A Healthier Halloween
Halloween is around the corner and the two biggest things that come to our minds are costumes and candy! Costumes are fun, but how can we stay away from over indulging with all the extra candy?
Here some ideas that can help out:
- Donate your extra candy to a Halloween candy buy back program. Your kids will love earning a dollar per pound. The troops will love receiving their candy.
- Sweets are not the only choice. There are other ideas for treats to give away that do not involve sweets. For example, plastic animals or insects, temporary tattoos, glow jewelry, toys…
- If you are the type that honors this tradition, and decide to give away sweets, there are versions of them that contain different types of sugars that could be beneficial to your oral health (like xylitol and sorbitol).
We hope these ideas will help out for a fun, but healthier Halloween. We can all make a difference!
